The Karnataka School Examination and Evaluation Board has decided to bring changes in the 2023-24 SSLC and Secondary PUC examination system. In this background, the annual examination schedule has been announced.
SSLC and II PUC Annual Examination The Board of School Education has issued a notification that under the existing examination system, one annual examination and one supplementary examination will be conducted for the students. This type of examination is creating more stress and test anxiety on the students. Due to this, students’ awareness, meaningful learning and academic progress are being hampered.
If a student who has passed the current second PUC examination is not satisfied with the marks obtained, there is an option to reject the marks obtained in the annual examination. Only the marks obtained in the simple examination are considered as the final marks of the student without considering the marks obtained in the previous examination. This system is not student friendly. Because the student has no option to keep his best score in two exams. If we adopt a remedial system it will provide an opportunity to retain the subject wise marks obtained in 1.2 and 3 examinations.
