Graduates can apply for the post of Station Master of Indian Railways and participate in the recruitment process. This is a Non Technical Popular Graduated post. Here are the details of how much salary will be given to the candidates who are selected for this post


Those who rise to the post of Station Master of the Indian Railways are first assigned to the post of Assistant Station Master (ASM). This is a Group C assignment and will be a Level 6 posting.






Basic Pay (basic pay) Rs 35,400 and Grade Pay Rs 4,200.


Total salary is based on the place where the post is assigned. A home rental allowance varies from one location to another.







The difference in HRA is 8 per cent, 16 per cent and 24 per cent. In addition, Dearness Allowance is paid twice a year. The DA is offered in January and July. The nightmare allowance is also given to those who maintain the position of Station Master at night. This is different than Basic Pay.


The travel allowance will be based on the station being deployed. Offered in either 1800+ DA or 3600 + DA.


Home rent allowance, travel allowance and tuition allowance are determined based on A, B and C category cities.

1.Rs.35,400 + DA @ 12% (4248) = 39,648

2. TA Rs.3600 + DA @ 12 (432) = Rs 4032

3 HRS = Rs 8,496

4 Total Gross Pay 1 + 2 + 3 = Rs.52,186


5 Night Duty Allowance is offered as a Basic Pay





Promoted from Assistant Station Master to Station Master. Promoted through Modified Assured Courier Progression. In addition, the departmental examinations of the Indian Railways can be taken by the officers.


Prior to 2017, the Basic Pay of Assistant Station Master was offered Rs 35,400.
